According to an invitation sent by Microsoft to bloggers and media houses, Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's CEO will kick off the launch of windows 7 in New York City on October 22. Former CEO and co-founder, Bill Gate is expected to be present at the occasion.
Talking about how big the occasion is going to be, your guess is as good as mine. Officially, Microsoft is not giving out any hint as to how exactly the atmosphere would look like in New York and other host cities; I can authoritatively say, from an inside source that it's going to be a 'big-bang launch.'
Here is an excerpt of the invitation: "We also wanted to let you know that you will be receiving an invitation to a Microsoft event in NYC on October 22nd to celebrate the availability and launch of Windows 7. With Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer speaking and exciting new hardware from our partners, we're looking forward to sharing Windows 7 ..."
